Envirocon has represented the Edwards fire alarm system since 1998. They are the leader in distributed intelligence. The technology used with the Edwards Signature Series is unmatched. Electronic mapping is an industry first. A microprocessor is contained in every Signature device, which allows each device to report its function and location within the wired circuit. When wiring changes are made, or devices are added, the map immediately updates itself. Signature's dual Alert/Trouble maintenance message saves you money and eliminates those emergency service calls to clean a dirty detector causing nuisance alarms. When a detector approaches, but not yet reaches its environmental compensation limit, it transmits a dirty detector "Maintenance Alert" message.
Time to clean, but not to panic. If the message is ignored, the detector continues to operate normally until it cannot compensate any further transmitting a dirty detector "Trouble" message. The detector will still operate, but without any environmental compensation capability until the sensitivity range window shrinks down to the alarm set point. At that time, where other detectors would false alarm, the Signature Series detector automatically removes itself from service preventing the chance for unwanted alarms. This technology provides the end user with reduced costs yet peak system performance.
